My apologies for the late posting of this newsletter. With 28-pages this is by far the thickest weighing in at 1.3 ounces. Needless to say, this past September was a busy month. Also check out District 50's website at: http://hawaiilions.org/ Other websites you may want to visit include: http://hilocoffeemill.com/ Jeanette Baysa from Hilo Coffee Mill was one of two guest speakers in September and was featured on the Travel Channel. You can see clips of this feature at http://hilocoffeemill.com/ The Office of Social Ministry (Lion Les Estrella guest speaker) has their website at: http://www.catholichawaii.org/social_ministry/bigisle.php for more information. The Lions of Kathmandu all the way over in Nepal has an impressive website at: http://www.lionsclubs.org.np/ Check out what some of our overseas Lions are doing on the other side of the world. Another successful day of Waiakea Lions helping a fellow Lion and what a day it was for the moving crew! After unloading the Harper's rental truck we thought the day was done...little did we know Lion Jonathan Lum had an offsite storage locker next to Dell's in Hilo. Round two, a full truck later, a break for some kau kau and the moving crew was hard at work unloading the last of the pack rats. |

I would like to apologize for a major technical glitch. I've been getting feedback that some of you aren't getting the August 2009 email Waiakea Lions bulletin. I'm working out the problems and should have it fixed shortly. Attached is the fourth attempt to send out this online version. Mahalo for your patience, Lion Craig Watanabe WLC Bulletin Editor |
